    Join us for a presentation and talk on Across the Avenues: Fairfield Porter in New York, by Kaitlin Halloran, Assistant Curator and Publications Coordinator. Halloran will discuss Porter’s time spent in Manhattan and the body of work created from the mid-1940’s to mid-1970’s, capturing New York City’s bustling energy through cityscapes and street scenes in works from the Parrish’s permanent collection.

    Comprised of 27 paintings and prints, Across the Avenues: Fairfield Porter in New York focuses on the cityscapes Porter created of Manhattan between the mid-1940s to mid-1970s. Drawn from the Museum’s vast Porter collection—consisting of over 240 works—Across the Avenues will include 23 paintings and four lithographic prints that illuminate the artist’s ability to capture New York City’s bustling energy, both day and night.

    On View | Beyond the Horizon

    Interpretations of the Landscape from Women in the Permanent Collection

    Spanning mural-sized oil paintings, expressionistic watercolors and pastel drawings, and intimate mixed-media abstractions, Beyond the Horizon will take viewers on a journey through visual styles and thematic experiences of the landscape. Featured women artists from the permanent collection capture the essence and tone of the environment through their own unique visual language.

    Les Enfants d’Ouranos

    New work by artist JR (b. 1983, Paris, France) presented as a large-scale, site-specific installation on the south façade of the Museum. The 200-foot long banner, depicting children playfully running, covers much of the exterior wall and is visible from Montauk Highway.
